Neil Jensen

Neil joined the party in 2017 after viewing covert footage from Australian factory farms and slaughterhouses, and discovering not only the systemic nature of abuse and neglect throughout the animal agriculture sector, but also the severe inadequacy of our nation's animal protection laws. Recognising that veganism and consumer-side advocacy alone are only half the solution, he saw value in the AJP's work to change legislation that facilitates cruelty, protects abusers, and treats animals as mere objects instead of sentient beings worthy of kindness and respect.

Neil has held leadership and advisory roles with various animal rights groups including Anonymous for the Voiceless, Animal Rights Advocates and Direct Action Everywhere, and contested the seat of Joondalup for the AJP in the 2025 WA state election. With a background in the public service and 10 years as a business owner, he comes to the Committee with skills in legal research, policy analysis, business administration, graphic design and social media management.
