We just made history!

Amanda Dorn joins Parliament for the animals!

WA Elects its First AJP Member of Parliament

This is the moment we’ve been working toward for years - and we did it together.

Thanks to the hard work, support and dedication of our incredible members and volunteers:

Amanda Dorn has been elected to the WA Upper House!

For the first time ever, the Animal Justice Party has a Member of Parliament in Western Australia.

This is a seismic win - for the animals, and for all of us.

It means that the voice of the voiceless will now be heard in the halls of power in WA.

Amanda will join our two sitting MPs – Emma Hurst in NSW and Georgie Purcell in VIC – to form a national cross-country team of trailblazers pushing for systemic change.

For the first time in our Party’s history, we have three state MPs across three states.

This is monumental.

With a lifetime of dedication to wildlife protection, animal rescue, and grassroots community advocacy, Amanda Dorn is the values-led representative that animals desperately need. A small business owner and Councillor for the City of Swan since 2023, Amanda is wholeheartedly committed to supporting local communities and the people of WA more broadly - always guided by kindness, rationality and a true sense of ‘justice’ for animals, people and our planet.

And she has big plans already. Amanda is laser-focused on bringing the Animal Justice Party’s policy platform to Parliament.

“I’m ready to hit the ground running. I don’t take this opportunity and this privilege for granted, and will spend every second of my time in Parliament fighting for:

  • Veticare for WA – we have an opportunity to establish a world-first public veterinary care system via ‘Veticare’, which will ease the cost-of-living and ensure no animal is left without the care they need.

  • And End to Greyhound Racing – far too many dogs die or are seriously injured in the name of greed and gambling profits. I will work tirelessly with community groups to bring this cruel industry down once and for all.

  • Real Wildlife Protection – we can’t afford to let our little penguins, dingoes, and black cockatoos continue down the path to extinction. With your support, I will fight every day for urgent action to save our native icons.

  • Tougher Animal Cruelty Laws – through reforming our weak animal cruelty legislation and establishing an Independent Office of Animal Protection, I want to see animal welfare regulated by an impartial, well-resourced body - it’s the least animals deserve.”

These are the campaigns that our supporters have worked so hard to help us bring to the forefront this election. And now, Amanda will now have the platform to fight for them in Parliament.
